The Dojo is where we train. It is a place of self discovery. It is a place to purify the mind and body through difficult training and disciplined reigi, or in western terms etiquette.
Fudo no Nami Aikido is honored to be part of So Budo Kai which gives us a Dojo that was built from the ground up as a Dojo and serves that purpose solely. Walking through the doors there is a feeling that this is a place that has been built on perseverance. Perseverance on building , operating and training.
Aikido is first and foremost a Martial Art. For a Martial art to be successful it must have a beginning, a history, and the means for continuation or survival of the art. This means that the art must be willing to adapt to a new modern era while maintaining the foundation, principles and practice.
Over the last 10 years with the advent of the terms MMA and the myriad of competitions that come with this term we have seen in the Aikido world a defamation of the Aikido art as being of little use, and constantly admonished with "MMA Vs Aikido".
